My laptop won't detect headphones Dell G5 15 5587

So my Dell laptop Dell G5 15 5587 used to detect my 3.5m plug headphones (using Realtek for inbound) no problem .I don't know when it started but now it can only use my laptop inbound voice. I've tried multiple online options and none seem to work (updating bio's, uninstalling and re-installing Realtek, checking a bunch of sound volume settings). the type of headphone I have are the type you can kind of unplug the part in which you speak in (so it becomes only a headset that you can't speak with, it has a removable part). But it's almost brand new. Not the most expensive, but I doubt the 70$ headphone broke in 6 months. Anyway.. Kinda getting desperate. I'm using it to game online with friends,and they can only hear really bad sound and all the ambient room sound from my laptop inbound. Please help!
