Unpleasant Odor Issue with Dell U2723QE Monitor

I recently purchased a Dell U2723QE monitor, and I have encountered an issue that requires your prompt attention.

After a few minutes of usage, an unpleasant burning plastic smell develops, particularly on the right side of the screen. The odor becomes quite strong when in close proximity to the monitor and gradually diffuses into the room after a few hours of use. I have maintained the Energy Star power mode to ensure conservative usage, and despite this, the smell persists.

It's important to note that there is no visible smoke, and the monitor does not seem excessively hot. However, the unpleasant smell remains present. I am uncertain whether this issue is specific to my unit or if it is a common occurrence with the Dell U2723QE model.

As the odor dissipates upon turning off the monitor, it still lingers in the room. I am unsure about the cause and would appreciate your guidance on the next steps. Should I consider returning the monitor given the recent purchase? Thank You.
