PowerEdge R7525 Do not see NVME disks at OS level

I have a PowerEdge R7525 in which we have install a PERC H745 with 9 x 1.92TB 12Gb 2.5inch RI SAS SSD Drive. And 6 x 2.4TB 10K 12Gb 2.5inch SAS drive. Everything works fine here, I could create de virtual drives.

The problem comes that it has also 2 DELL 800GB 2.5inch Hot-Swap NVME drive, that they appears in idrac, but they are not detected from the OS , neither Windows 2022 server, redhat o gparted. Also when I enter in boot menu it do not appear any NVME disk. But they do appear at IDRAC level.

I try every option at BIOS level but I could not get them work.

Any idea?

Rikkii,

As seen here, the H745 doesn't support Nvme drives, it supports 12 Gb/s SAS - 6 Gb/s SAS/SATA - 3 Gb/s SAS/SATA. You would need to look at using the S150 instead.

Let me know if this helps.

@DELL-Chris H Thanks Chris. I know H745 do not support Nvme drives.  But it is supposed this server accept direct connection of nvme drives to mother board, isn't it?

Is it possible as this server only has 1 processor connected that I have to move those 2 nvme disks to the right so they are available for the first processor?  Could it explain why those disks are shown in the idrac but not available for the system?

Hello,

can you try to change this setting in BIOS?

Dell EMC PowerEdge R7525 BIOS and UEFI Reference Guide | Dell Anguilla

Expecially BIOS NVMe driver set to All Drives.

Thanks
