Hello,

Detailed Steps:

  1. 1. Initiate Replacement via Technician Advisor:
    1. Use the cluster's PSNT (Part Serial Number), BBU index, and BBU name found in the Technician Advisor to start the replacement process on the affected BBU.
  1. 2. Check BBU Charge:
    1. Ensure the BBU is sufficiently charged (80% or more and charging) before initiating the replacement.
  1. 3. Physical Replacement:
    1. Remove Bezel: If present, remove the BBU bezel.
    1. Power Down (if necessary): If the BBU is still powered on, disconnect its power cable and press the power button to shut it down.
    1. Disconnect Cables: Disconnect all power and communication cables from the BBU.
    1. Remove and Transfer Rails: Note the position of the inner rails on the defective BBU and transfer them to the new BBU.
    1. Install New BBU: Slide the new BBU onto the rails.
    1. Secure and Connect: Align the bezel clips, secure the BBU to the rack, and connect the power and communication cables.
  1. 4. Update Information Base (IB):
    1. Remove the old BBU's serial number from the IB and add the new BBU's serial number.
  1. 5. Final Steps:
    1. Collect Logs: Collect a log file bundle from the cluster and the FUR report from the Technician Advisor.
    1. Attach Assets: Attach all assets to the service request for record-keeping.

I hope this helps.
