XPS Plus 9320, DisplayPort stopped working after windows update
After a windows update, my external monitor Dell C1422H stopped working with a type2-C error. I have updated the latest BIOS, reinstalled the video card software and reinstalled the usb root hub , but all this did not solved it. The C1422H and cable are working fine on a different laptop.

Remove the update -- does the system then function correctly?

I have removed the updates, even restored to factory settings but still not working. Now Dell solution is a motherboard replacement claiming the ports are damaged. Another question both ports stopped working while only 1 was connected, could this indicate something wrong with the video card too? Product is only 15 months old and out of warranty.

It doesn't matter, since there is no video card. Like everything inside the system except for the storage drive, it's all part of the mainboard.
Unfortunately, you're about to find out why a 3-year warranty on a new system is a good idea, as you are facing a board replacement that will be well over $500 -- possibly more if it's an i7 system.

This is my 3rd XPS and 1st time experiencing hardware failure out of the blue. Also the battery is reaching its end of life after 15months, while I m using this laptop mainly on AC power. Even iphone batteries last longer. This laptop was clearly wrongly built.
