XPS Keyboard Dropping Keystrokes
XPS 13 9360
The keyboard on my XPS 13 9360 skips characters when using the onboard keyboard. An external keyboard connected via USB works flawlessly. I have performed the following:
* Updated PS/2 Keyboard drivers from Dell and using Microsoft drivers.
* Removed all keyboard drivers in Device Manager, then rebooted.
* Tried 3rd party (HP) PS/2 drivers.
* Replaced the onboard keyboard.
None of the above changed the situation except the external keyboard.

Remove the base cover and check the condition of the battery, which is below the keyboard. If it is at all swollen, remove and dispose of it immediately. Very often, keyboard and/or touchpad malfunctions are the first symptom of a swollen battery.

If the skipped characters are in specific rows or "columns", it may be an issue of the keyboard/cable/connectors to the keyboard controller daughterboard (small PCB under the battery). Try reseating the keyboard cable. The keyboard controller can be replaced (includes the connector).
