XPS 9530 blinking screen one year without fix
Bought 9530 in May 2024 and start to see the screen blinking in airport with battery mode. Then it happened randomly but always in battery mode. Contact Dell, change Intel Graphics setting. Then happened again, update the drivers. In next one year, Dell technician updated my drive and change the setting always until May 2025. When contacting them again in Jun, they said my warrantee is gone, sorry but can't do nothing more. I told them it is an old issue since day one. Sorry.......can't do nothing, called customer care, same thing, I need to have warrantee to be serviced. So I have to extend my warrantee and get the "service" back ------ then the same story again: upgrade the driver and change graphic setting again. I told that Indian technician what happened before, he let me drive to their third part technical company for testing.
I have used Dell almost 20 years for my job and personal life. My first dell has been used 7 years since 2007, it was broken and repaired under warrantee and extended warrantee. I never worried about the service even if it could be broken. Not anymore. Also, their customer care doesn't care nothing either. Forget it, it is not old Dell anymore!

Hi
The internet reports...
main methods:
Update the BIOS to version 1.19.1 or later, which Dell specifically recommends to resolve flickering caused by touchpad or panel interference.
Update Intel graphics drivers to the latest version, such as driver version 31.0.101.4953 or newer, which can fix flickering related to external monitors and possibly internal display issues.
Disable Panel Self-Refresh in Intel Graphics settings: Go to Intel Graphics Command Center → System → Power → and turn off "Panel Self Refresh," which has helped stop flickering for many users.
Turn off HDR (High Dynamic Range): Some users reported screen blinking and flashing resolved by disabling HDR in Windows Display Settings, as HDR can sometimes cause compatibility problems on Dell XPS screens.
Check hardware connections: For persistent issues, some users have found that cleaning dust and reseating the display ribbon cables inside the laptop stopped flickering, indicating a possible loose hardware connection.
If still unresolved, boot into Safe Mode to uninstall and reinstall display drivers, or reinstall Windows if the problem is caused by corrupt software or drivers.
Additional practical tips:
Setting the onboard refresh rate to around 49.96 Hz has reportedly helped reduce flickering for some users.
Disabling hardware acceleration in browsers can help if flickering happens mainly during web browsing.
Trying these steps in order—from BIOS and driver updates to toggling display settings like Panel Self-Refresh and HDR—addresses the common causes of screen blinking on the XPS 9530. If hardware fault is suspected after all software fixes, contacting Dell support for repair or replacement is advisable.
