XPS 17 nvhda64v BSOD when the HD Audio Driver is installed
When I fully install the nVidia HD Audio Driver, I get continuous BSODS on switching the machine off, and it generates minidump files.
SYMBOL_NAME: nvhda64v+9407MODULE_NAME: nvhda64vIMAGE_NAME: nvhda64v.sys
FAILURE_BUCKET_ID: 0xa0_1_nvhda64v!unknown_function
So it complains about unknown function.
I'm getting told by Dell Tech Support to change the Motherboard, then they seem to now be saying to reinstall the OS.
Reinstalling the OS means backing up and reinstalling all applications, and so will take quite some time.
However it seems like they don't really know whats going on.
Is anyone else facing this issue?
The one way of fixing it, is to disable the HD Audio Driver from NVidia, Once that is disabled then the BSODs stop.
So that's what I've done at present. But it would be good to have a full system.
Anyone else facing this issue with NVidia on a Dell XPS. Mine is a Dell XPS 17.
thanks
