XPS 17 L702X, installing TPM module on motherboard?

Dear Dell XPS Community,

I am writing to you all from XPS 17 L702X which is and always be a treasure to me and I can see this device being handed over to the next family generation after me.

Is it possible for me to have the TPM module installed to my motherboard in order to entertain having the option to Windows 11?

I am mechanically minded, but haven't delved into electronics to solder up a motherboard, but am willing to try and it'll be the only reason why I purchase another PC, while this PC is in hospital having beauty surgery.

If anyone has done it, please let me know or has anyone had thoughts about this.

I have Windows 11 on this PC, but that's in my "virtual machine" VirtualBox.

Note: (I haven't been able install from an OS Image on VMware).

The answer is no, you can't retrofit a TPM on this system, and no CPU this system supports will meet the Windows 11 support requirements.

As the other post indicates, you can bypass the checks at least for now, but you can't bring this system up to meeting the official requirements for Windows 11.

You are overthinking it. This YouTube video describes how to bypass the TPM, CPU, RAM, and Secure Boot checks. I have used it on systems older than yours and it works fine.

@JOcean Hi JOcean, thanks for nice video, W11 works fine. Please how about W11 upgrade from current 21h2 version to the 22h2 (23h2.......)?
Now it's frozen. What version of W11 do you operate, please? Thx.!

@etawiro I had similar problems installing that update. I am running 23H2 now but being part of the Insider program I believe it was a possibly updated version of 23H2 since it installed with no problems. When I initially installed 22H2, at least I believe that was the version, I had a black screen and no desktop display at all. I was forced to clean install again so there were some problems with the update at least that is what I am led to believe.

@JOcean Thanks for your quick answer. It's pretty incredible how fast is 12 years old Dell L702x with a new SSD drive and W11. Maybe in the future there will be way to upgrade to 22H2 etc..
