XPS 16 9640 bios Heeeeelppp
Hey Guys,
so i got a notification to update my bios and then pressed ok. it started and i wasnt sure if it finished bc my pc never rebooted...then i left my laptop out and it died. the next day i turned it on and it booted to windows but i kept getting a notification that it cant connect to the battery so i assumed there was a prob with the firmware anyhow i tried reinsatlling the bios and my laptop rebooted and then stopped working now it turns, show the xps logo, and then comes to a screen that says power inadequete auto recovery has been triggered but doesnt do anything.... i tried everything even the ctrl shift and tried making a bootable usb. it will show up to the page that offers to recover bios but wont let me continue
please help

At a command prompt, type the exe file name followed by the /writeromfile switch. It may need to be an admin privilege command prompt.

Hi
Did you download the .RCV file?
Which just has to be dropped onto the USB?
D:\Downloads>dir *.rcv
04/09/2025 14:23 52,316,567 BIOS_IMG.rcv
1 File(s) 52,316,567 bytes
0 Dir(s) 15,143,915,520 bytes free
or are you trying the .EXE file?

there is no way to download the rcv they only give an option for the exe so thats what i downloaded. i then formatted the usb and renamed the exe to BIOS_IMG.rcv and put it into my laptop...
it took me to the page to load it from usb but it doesnt let me continue bc my battery isnt charging

Hi
I downloaded the .RCV file, and I didn't need your service tag.

I wish you luck
