XPS 15 9560 - New Dell Battery - Not identifiable / incompatible battery

Hello All,
Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you fix it, maybe a registry edit...?
My original OEM Dell battery has been getting worse, does not hold a charge, so it is time for a new one.
So I decided to buy a new battery, at first I was thinking that I would do the same as I have done in the past and go on Amazon and purchase one from there. But I thought, no I will buy a brand new OEM battery at 5 to 6 times the amount of an aftermarket one directly from Dell (PN# GPM03).
Well the new Dell battery arrived and when I installed it, I got an error message as follows:

Okay, that this moment time, after spending way too much time on the phone with Dell Customer Service, being transferred to Website Sale, being on hold for 45 minutes the first time and then being hung up on and 30 minutes the second time to only be hung up again. Dealing with tech support chat, only to be told to contact Website Sale for return or exchange. Aaaahhhh...!
So I ultimately ended up doing an Advance Exchange with Dell for another battery the arrives next week. I am trying not to be a pessimist, but I have a sneaking feeling that the second brand new Dell battery is going to give me the same result. I will then have to send my perfectly fine computer back to Dell to have them replace the battery for me. Aaaahhhh...!
Any help or thoughts would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

If a second OEM battery does the same, start looking elsewhere -- it could be a faulty system board.

Hello @ejn63,
When this happened on Monday night, I immediately placed the original back into the laptop and it also gave the same error message, but then after a couple minutes the system somehow decided that it was an original battery and excepted the OEM battery back in the fold. I then thought to try the new one again to see if it would also be excepted, but after having it in all day Wednesday, it continued to reject it.
So all that said, I would think that if there was something wrong with the system board / motherboard that it would show the same error message to whatever battery was placed into it.

On a newer system, I'd agree -- but this one is headed for ten years old and you may have at least one chip - -or wire trace -- on the mainboard that's in near-death condition.
I would let the deciding factor be just how long you plan to keep the system in service -- Windows 10 begins its slide to unsupported status later this year, and this system does not support Windows 11 (at least not officially -- yes, it does work for now, but the question is for how much longer)?
