XPS-15-9560 Motherboard Sparked Fire

I had the same exact issue as this post, this morning.

https://www.dell.com/community/en/conversations/xps/xps-15-9560-out-of-warranty-motherboard-caught-on-fire/647f93a3f4ccf8a8de5be379

My XPS 9560 sparked a fire, this morning, while booting. I opened the computer and it's in the same exact place as the post listed above. I went to device manager and the Nvidia GPU is not listed, so my display is running on the Intel GPU.

My questions.

Is it safe to continue to operate this computer?

Should I be wary of other sparks, as this computer has ran fine for 7 years until this morning. (Purchased Jan. 2017)

I'm just lucky that I found this post, telling me what the issue is. The GPU voltage regulator (VRM) circuit is blown.

If the system functions on integrated video, there's likely no harm in using it until the board completely fails -- that said, it would be a very good idea to shut down, disconnect the battery from the mainboard and clean up the debris from the board with 91% isopropyl alcohol.  Leaving that in place may lead to further damage.

The only long-term fix is a replacement system board -- which will probably exceed the value of the system, and any replacement board will be of unknown history, meaning it could be subject to the same failure.
