XPS 15 9550 - SSD - what's it for?

Hi friends,
I have had to change the 3.5" hard drive and re-install Window,
All done and working well.
In the process I discovered the 32GB SSD.

W10 required 32 GB as a base.

Was I supposed to install W10 on the SSD to speed the boot etc?
(Surely with all the patches etc, the final updated W10 will spill out of 32gb?)
Am I supposed to put W10 on SSD and just "hope" that any further space required will just find it's own way onto the other disc!? (They are not Raided as such, or a shared volume..)

Surely, being so close to "full" will make Windows unstable on this SSD?

Any clarity appreciated..

If you've installed Windows to the SSD, you will need to reinstall it.

If it's installed to the hard drive, you can enable IRST caching without reinstalling.

A 32G SSD is a cache for the hard drive -- it is too small to hold a copy of Windows.

You can either reinstall the IRST cache, or even better, replace the 32G SSD with a  256G or larger one and then install Windows onto it.

Thanks so much for the quick reply!
How would I reinstall the IRST Cache please?
(Do I have to re-install from scratch!?)
