XPS 15 9530, need Technical Support assistance

Dear Dell Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my concern regarding the performance and safety of my Dell laptop, which I purchased in January 2024  for around £1200. Yesterday, while watching a movie on a website, the laptop suddenly froze, and the screen became completely unresponsive. I tried shutting it down by pressing the power button for an extended period, but the device would not turn off. Out of options, I closed the laptop and left it alone. To my shock, the laptop became extremely hot, posing a potential safety hazard. It was only due to the battery running low and automatically shutting down that a serious disaster was avoided.

As a student who relies heavily on this device for my studies, this experience was deeply disappointing and alarming. I expect better performance and safety from a laptop of this price and reputation. Since the device is still under warranty, I kindly request immediate assistance in resolving this issue. Please let me know the next steps to proceed with either a repair or replacement, as this has been a highly concerning and unexpected problem. I look forward to your prompt response.

Did you hold the power button with the AC adapter disconnected?  If you do that for a minute or so, the power will cut off.

As for the rest, start by calling Dell support in your location and walk through troubleshooting with the technician.
