XPS 15 9520 without nvidia GPU - cooling and USB dock with 90W PD
Hi, I'm considering to buy an XPS 15 9520 with the i5-12500H CPU, without a dedicated GPU. I suppose this configuration has the same cooling system (2 heatpipes with 2 fans) as the one with nVidia GPU, so it should run cooler and quieter. Can someone confirm this please? Or any other experience with this configuration?
This no GPU laptop has a 90W power adapter, so I suppose the Dell Dock WD19S USB-C 130W with 90W power delivery should work well even if the 180W version is recommended by Dell. Is it so?
Thank you.

I have that laptop and yes it has 2 fans but I assume 2 heatpipes but I am not sure. I am using an old dock not sure what model number but I have a 130w barrel plug brick that plugs into it and for some reason it still gives me a warning that the power adapter doesn't have enough power but even while doing heaving tasks I don't see any battery drain when gaming on this. I can run the Outer Worlds and Cod Warzone 2.0 at low settings 900pish and i get 70-90 fps with intel xe gpu usage at %100 and cpu usage never goes past 40% or 50% you shouldn't have any issues with that. Hope this helps.

Thank you for the info. Please what is your experience with the notebook's fans? Do they run when idle or do they produce any unpleasant sounds at some load levels?

They run extremely quiet even under full load you will be able to hear them a little if you are in a very quiet room but if you have headphones in or even music playing from the laptops speakers you wont even hear them.
