XPS 15 9510 Ram Upgrade
I've tried to upgrade the ram on my laptop.
My Laptop is
- XPS 15 9510
- Motherboard : Dell 01V4T3
- BIOS : UEFI 1.41.0
- Chipset : Intel WM590
- RAM : HMAA1GS6CJR6N-XN
- DDR4-3200
- CL22
- Voltage is 1.2V
I made sure the ram was DDR4 3200.
First I tried corsair CL22 memory kit with 2 16GB sticks. I've linked them below. The computer hung at the splash screen and the indicator led flashed the pattern indicating a memory issue.
After some poking around online it seemed like my best bet for ram sticks compatible with my laptop would be crucial. So i went through their tool that claimed these sticks would be compatible with my laptop. Once again DDR4 3200 CL22. This time my computer also hung at the Dell logo splash screen. This time though the indicator stayed solid white.

- I upgraded the BIOS.
- I tried the RTC reset procedure.
- Every time I do the install I make sure to disconnect the battery first
I already spoke with dell customer support and they were essentially useless. They basically told me they don't support 3rd party ram with no information as to why ram that meets the specs posted on your website does not work. So I've decided to post on this public platform in the hopes of getting some actual help.
What am I missing about the ram comparability? Are you guys software locking your ram sticks? What do I need to do to get this crucial ram working with my laptop?

Try one module at a time in each socket (and reset the system -- disconnect AC power and disconnect the battery from the mainboard, and hold the power button 30 sec. before you do).
Will either module work in one socket but not the other? Or does one module fail in each socket but not the other?
