XPS 15 9510, LG monitor power delivery issue
XPS 15 9510
Dear all,
Recently I ordered a new 24-inch monitor from LG with Thunderbolt™ 3 support. The monitor provides me with up to 85W power delivery.
The issue is that BIOS shows me that the monitor only gives a 15W power supply. As a result, my laptop is charged very long. Please see 15W in the attached screenshot below.
I know that for my XPS 15 9510 it is not enough and should be 130W but I am planning to charge my laptop at night only. 85W power delivery is enough for nightly charging. I tried using ports on the left side of my laptop. The BIOS version is 1.13.0 (the latest version). In addition, I used SupportAssist to install the latest versions of drivers.
How can I configure my laptop to start using 85W power delivery instead of 15W?
Thank you in advance.
Best,
Arkadiy

Sure, that monitor is not only a power adapter. However, in this situation it is attempting to provide power to your laptop and since it is third party (LG not Dell) there is a chance that it is getting watt limited (this is not made any better by the fact that the monitor is marketed for macs not Windows devices). Sure, the monitor might work on Windows laptops but it was designed for mac devices. Reach out to LG and they can help you with questions specific to your monitor (like factory resetting it).

What's the monitor's model? Third party adapters are notorious for getting watt limited.

Hello everybody and thank you for your answers.
What's the monitor's model?
The monitor model is LG 24MD4kl-b: https://www.lg.com/levant_en/monitors/lg-24md4kl-b
A monitor webpage says that this monitor is "Mac Compatibility" but if you go to the "Download" page you can download tools for Windows 10 as well.
Third party adapters are notorious for getting watt limited.
The situation is that it is not a power adapter. BTW, has anybody heard about the DELL vendor lock that prevents connecting other devices to DELL laptops? Could you please share with me the unlock tool?
Unfortunately, I do not have a docking station. The Technical Support team has written me that I should "try a factory reset on the monitor". I have checked the monitor user guide but could not find how I can do this "factory reset". Moreover, my monitor is completely new and has some kind of factory default settings.
