XPS 15 9500 WIFI
Hellos -
Problem again with my xps-15/9500 that I cannot figure out. Need to determine if it is faulty hardware or software [windows]. Every indication says its hardware, but idk for certain.
The wifi on this machine suddenly stopped working. I have deleted and reloaded all the network and wifi drivers, still it wont work.
The wifi connect on the taksbar sees the available connections. It connects, but says no internet. I tried rebooting the router, still will not connect. All my other connections in the house connect. If I hook a direct RJ45 cable I have internet. If I put my emergency USB/802.11n wifi, i have internet via wifi. just no internet with the computers wifi.
TY for the help. dw

At a command prompt with admin privilege, type
netsh winsock reset catalog
Then reboot the system and re-add the wifi connection. Does that solve the issue?

Do you have third party antivirus/security software running (McAfee, etc.)? What happens if you disable that?

Hi
A ping test may help. 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1
PING 192.168.1.1 (192.168.1.1) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from 192.168.1.1: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=3.98 ms
PING 13.107.4.52 (13.107.4.52) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from 13.107.4.52: icmp_seq=1 ttl=117 time=15.6 ms
Do the test with no ethernet or USB connection.
Post the results please.

Hello, you can test the following steps to see if they work properly:
1. Disable "Allow the computer to turn off this device" in Power Management.
Right-click the Start menu and select "Device Manager."
Expand "Network Adapters" and locate your Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 (or similar) device;
Right-click it and select "Properties."
Switch to the "Power Management" tab;
Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."
Click OK, then restart your computer to test again.
2. Use Intel's official Driver & Support Assistant.
Dell's official website drivers are sometimes not up to date. We recommend using Intel's tool.
Visit Intel's official website, download, and run the Intel Driver & Support Assistant.
Let the tool automatically detect your hardware (including your wireless network card).
It will provide you with the latest official drivers and firmware for your network card. Follow the prompts to complete the installation.
After installation, restart your computer again.
3. Disable/enable your wireless network card in the BIOS.
This is equivalent to a hard reset of the wireless module. Restart your computer. When the Dell logo appears, repeatedly press the F2 key to enter the BIOS setup interface;
Find "System Configuration" or a similar option on the left;
Find the "Wireless" or "Integrated NIC" setting;
Make sure it's "Enabled." If it's already enabled, disable it, save the settings, and exit BIOS. Then re-enter BIOS, enable it, save the settings, and exit;
Test again after entering Windows.
4. Please confirm the IP address when the network cable is directly connected to the computer, and the IP address when connected to WiFi without a cable.
Please manually adjust the IP address to the same network segment.
(I previously encountered the same problem when using a Mokin docking station to connect to the network card, but they only recommended checking the IP address and uninstalling and reinstalling the network card driver, and it worked correctly. Although I wasn't connecting directly to the computer, the principle should be the same.)
If all the above methods fail, the problem may be with the hardware.
