Xps 15 7590 laptop charging issue

My laptop is no longer charging. I've had to replace the charging point twice in the last five years and I suspect it has broken yet again - seems to be a design fault.

anyway it's no longer under warranty and I'm not able to purchase extended warranty either as apparently it's too old.

how else can I charge it?

is there a usb-c adapter that would work?

I have tried this one -

Dell UK 130W USB-C AC Adapter with 1m power cord

but it hasn't worked

what else can I do?

many thanks

Unfortunately, if two adapters aren't recognized to charge the system, the sole remaining solution is a replacement mainboard.

Can the charging port itself not just be replaced again? It seemed to be a five minute job last time!

incidentally a friend plugged a charger in and it did appear to be work albeit slowly - will find out what it was

Or is there a specific usb-c charger that would work on this model? When I look online it's hard to work it out

It may be worth a try, but if the system won't charge over either USB-C or the barrel connector, I suspect you're going to find it's a mainboard issue.

Ok that's disappointing esp as the motherboard was replaced a year ago for this exact issue - at the same time the charger port was replaced for the second time...

Given how old the XPS 15 7590 is it might be time for a new machine. My latest Dell runs Windows 11 great,

I use a Dell XPS 15 - 9530 usb-C cord to charge my wife's 7590.
