XPS 15 7590 does not boot
Hello,
I have a XPS 15 7590 that I believe the battery is not behaving though not sure if it is the battery.
The battery was replace 18 month ago. It is usually plugged-in during its usage. Started misbehaving 2 month ago where it shutdown even plugged-in. If the laptop is not being used it shows 12.15 Volts, plugged in 12.7 Volts. Runs 10 to 30 seconds before shutdown. Is this normal behavior that requires battery replacement?
Regards,
Philippe

Disconnect the battery from the mainboard (service manual link below). If the system will then power up and run, the battery is the issue. If it will not, there are other issues than (just) the battery.

Yes its works without the battery plugged-in, thanks. I replaced the battery with: Dell W62W6 Dell 6-cell 97 Wh in January 2024. It is used most of the time plugged-in. It seems like a short life for a Dell battery or are my expectations to high?

There's no way to answer -- it's a 5-6 year old system and if that replacement battery wasn't truly new, it could be completely normal behavior.
