XPS 13 9530 Keyboard illumination not in BIOS not toggle with fn+f10

I used to have a backlit keyboartd but after i swapped out my battery, keyboard illumination does not work. It does not appear in BIOS. It does not toggle on/off with the fn key + f10. The other fn key functions work as i can still volume up/down and adjust screen broightness. I have reseated the backlight cable multiple times and i am just stumped on this.

  • If the backlight still doesn't work, try pressing and holding the "Fn" key and then pressing the "Escape" key, and then try again.
  • In the BIOS, navigate to the "Keyboard" or "Keyboard Illumination" section.
  • If you suspect a hardware issue, ensure that the keyboard cable is securely connected to the motherboard or replace the cable.

  • If the backlight still doesn't work, try pressing and holding the "Fn" key and then pressing the "Escape" key, and then try again.
    • This works for volume and brightness controls, but not for keyboard illuminations.
  • In the BIOS, navigate to the "Keyboard" or "Keyboard Illumination" section.
    • This is not present in Bios. I have reset my computer and updated to the latest version, and it is not present
  • If you suspect a hardware issue, ensure that the keyboard cable is securely connected to the motherboard or replace the cable.
    • The cable is snug and the clamp is pressed donw, securing it in place.
