XPS 13 9350 - Software updates through SupportAssist on 11/13/25 will cause Windows boot error pnp_detected_fatal_error (0xCA)
Posting this in case it will help anyone today. I have an XPS 13 9350 which failed to boot after a restart today. There were about 5 software updates that were installed today through Dell SupportAssist, one or more of which caused Windows to fail to boot after a restart, resulting in Error Code pnp_detected_fatal_error (0xCA).
The only resolution I've been able to find was to perform a System Restore through Advanced Startup to a restore point earlier this morning that was automatically created by the Dell Client Management Service. Windows booted normally after the restore.
After the restore, Dell SupportAssist software update found 5 updates, a couple of them which were driver updates. Windows would fail to boot with the pnp_detected_fatal_error (0xCA) error code after the updates were installed. I don't remember specifically which ones, but one of them was the Killer Wifi/Bluetooth driver, however, I'm not sure if that's the culprit.
I had to restore the system to the same restore point and uninstall Dell SupportAssist to ensure that these updates don't get installed. Only then would Windows boot normally after a restart.

I had the same problem on 9350. The problematic update was Intel Innovation Platform Framework and Provider Package Driver (06.10.2025).
