XPS 13 9350, camera stopped working

Hi,I have just purchased a laptop DELL XPS 9350 3K OLED, U7-258V, 32GB, 1TB SSD, WIN, on which the integrated camera worked when I first started it, including recognition, but after doing several windows updates, including the bios one, it suddenly stopped working. I tried all kinds of options, with drivers and what else I found on the Dell page, but nothing could make it work. I even reinstalled windows and the problem still persists. In the device manager, it appears with the Intel(r) Control Logic problem, for which I also tried to update the driver with those from Dell and those from Intel, but the problem persists. It's really frustrating to have this happen to a new laptop and not be able to find any solution. Please help me with what else I could do. I thank you.

Hi, Well you can try these basic but effective way to fix the issue of your camera in your laptop.

  • Check for a Physical Camera Switch
  • Verify Camera is Enabled in BIOS
  • Check Privacy Settings (Windows 10/11)
  • Reinstall or Update Camera Driver if you not try it yet.
  • Run Dell Diagnostics & Use Webcam Software to Test
  • Try to BIOS & Firmware Update

Hi and thanks for the answer. I don't think it has any switch except for the one in the bios which is activated. in Privacy settings it says "no cameras found". I kept installing and uninstalling various drivers until it gave me a blue screen and it still didn't work. Paradoxically, when the laptop was first turned on, the camera worked perfectly to record the face, but after Windows automatically made all its updates, including the bios update dated 05.20.2025, it stopped working at all. The driver from the camera looks like it would be ok, but there is a problem with the driver from "Intel(R) Control Logic", regarding which I tried with various drivers from Dell / Intel but they didn't work. From here I actually don't know what to do. I am also attaching a picture.

Hi,

Then I will suggest you to reinstall the windows sometime if we don't install the windows properly if can cause this kind of issue after some days. So I will suggest you to reinstall the windows in your system. Or try to use an external camera and see if that work or issue remain the same.

Hi, it sounds like the Windows or BIOS update may have caused a conflict with the integrated camera drivers. I recommend first checking Device Manager to see if the camera is listed under "Imaging Devices" or "Cameras"—if it's missing or shows an error, try uninstalling and reinstalling the camera drivers from Dell’s support site. Also, reset the BIOS to default settings and make sure the camera is enabled there. If that doesn’t work, try rolling back the BIOS update if possible, as this has helped some users in similar cases.

Although it didn't look like it, it turned out to be a hardware problem. The problem was solved by replacing the laptop. Now everything works fine after installing all the updates. It was not known if the problem is with the camera or with someone else who controls the camera on the motherboard and that's why the decision was made to replace it completely.
