XPS 13 9310 2v1 battery not detected while laptop remains working

I was just cleaning dust and keyboard from the inside, so I disconnected the battery and removed everything (incl. motherboard, keyboard) following the official guide. I was cleaning using >99% Isopropanol. After that I let it sit for over 1 hour and assembled everything. On first start it asked me to set date in BIOS and I noticed that the battery was not detected. Even after booting to windows the battery was not detected. I also noticed that the system was very slow, fans didn't start at all and it remained completely cold.

I figured it must be throttled because it runs on battery, so I connected a Thunderbird dock and then the laptop instantly shut down with 3 - 5 amber white signal that means Power-rail failure. Then it started with system tests, where everything except the battery was fine (incl. the fans).

I made tripple sure to connect everything back. What might be the issue? And how to fix it?

If I didn't connect everything, would the laptop even work? Keyboard, touchpad, wifi, sound, even secondary screen via DP dongle works, but as soon as I connect the dock (for power), it shuts down. Both TB ports work with the display dongle fine, so the are likely not damaged.

Does the system boot and operate normally without the dock connected?

If it does not, power down, unplug the battery again and hold down the power button for 30 sec.  Then reassemble and check again (without the dock connected).

If the system doesn't boot normally thereafter, the question you'll have to answer is whether a replacement mainboard (300-400+) makes sense from an economic standpoint.  You may also have to factor in a battery, particularly if it's original to the system, since it's now 5+ years old.  Also compare the cost of a complete used system to the mainboard -- the system's value is not much more than that of a replacement mainboard.

If the system does operate OK without the dock, but not with it, replace the dock.

It does boot normally as mentioned in the original post, however it was rather slow. But the battery was still not detected in Windows and when I connected the TB Dock, it would instantly shut down, followed by 3-5 amber white Power-rail failure signal.

I tried both TB ports with the DisplayPort dongle and they both worked, suggesting that they are not damaged.

Much later (5 minutes ago), I tried connecting a USB-C power outlet, but it also instantly shut down, but it was not followed by the 3-5 signal, so I tried connecting the Dock again to see if anything changed and it also didn't produce the signal. This prompted me to try to turn the system on again and now it started normally, the battery is detected in windows and it runs on full speed without any throttling, the fans run. Everything seems fine, no overheating, no smell, no smoke.

I still wonder what was going on.
