XPS 13 9300 poor performance off charge

Since owning this laptop I've always noticed that the performance of the laptop is significantly worse when off charge. Playing YouTube videos in any quality higher than 1080p is virtually impossible and running any applications such as SkyGo, Amazon Prime Video, Netflix and Twitch again is virtually impossible.

The battery level decreases so fast that using the laptop off charge is pointless.

Anyone else having the same issues? Any setting changes I can make to improve performance?

Are you on Windows 10 or Windows 11? There is a BIOS update for your machine so try applying that (Dell Update or SupportAssist should have it for you).

What BIOS revision are you running on the laptop?

Batteries do not last as long as they used to. Expect a battery to need replacement after about only 2 years of use. See all these facts-- FAQ - Laptop battery articles - Dell Community

Wow. That’s incredible. Videos are playing so much better already! 3 zinc you’ve saved me a lot of stress thanks so much!

How often do you recommend checking updates on Dell SupportAssist?

Glad I could help. Responding to your new question. I find checking for/applying updates to be a sort of "art". You want to apply updates that are needed for security, otherwise I do not apply updates unless I am having some sort of issue which I think could be resolved by the update. Hope that makes sense.
