XPS 13 7390 no audio on Windows 11
XPS 13 7390
I cannot hear audio on XPS 13 7390 with Windows 11. I also get a horrific screeching sound when restarting. And when trying to listen to a video, I hear a sound like a thunderbolt but no audio from the video. Dell diagnostics confirm no hardware problems. Troubleshooting indicates I need to update my Realtek High Definition audio driver which is version 6.0.9071.1, A02 Release date 28 Dec 2020. I downloaded the latest Realtek-High-Definition-Audio-Driver_RHHPH_WIN_6.0.9071.1_A02_02.EXE from Dell which removes and reinstalls that driver, but this does not fix the audio problems. I also installed Waves MaxxAudio Pro which Dell states is required with this Realtek driver to have full functionality.
What is also frustrating is when Dell checks my XPS 13 7390 Service Tag, I get the message: “This driver is not applicable for the <service tag> with Windows 11. You can search for a similar driver for this device or check to see if this driver is compatible with another device.” But only the version 6.0.9071.1e is provided for both Windows 11 and 10, and I cannot find other suitable drivers on the Dell website.
If anyone can help, I’ll glad buy you a Full Sail ale in Hood River, OR! :o)

To receive assistance from Dell chat support, they need to verify the warranty status and ownership. Then you must troubleshoot with them. Click the "Get Help Now" icon on the right to start a live chat session. If already out of warranty, click here for the Dell out of warranty offering.
