What's the purpose of Secured with Dell SafeBios?
XPS 15 9530
Hello... It really seem like Dell is doing there best to get people off from using their products. I see no reason as to why Dell has this Secured with Dell SafeBios, the bios was fine the way it was and I don't understand what is with this, can one explain as how this makes Dell products better? Thx

So it should do 3 main things:
1. Chech if any information is sent without really need of it
2. See if last changes of the windows or any instalation process included bad code/viruses or what evar you call it
3. See if windows are not modified and main parts/drivers are safe to use like networking video etc.

You're skirting around some security issue and fishing for answers without being clear why. The purpose of SafeBIOS is to secure the system against theft, loss or intrusion in case of loss of possession of the system.
If you've purchased a used system where the owner cannot provide the registration details to Dell, or of unknown history where you won't be able to establish ownership, be sure you add the cost of a system board (which will be very expensive on this system) to the purchase price of the system.

There are two separate issues here. The connection to the Microsoft account is simpler: you need to have the owner of the system remove it from their Microsoft account.
If you're trying to register the system with Dell, you will need the registered owner's name, email address and phone number to do so.

What do you mean registration details to Dell? Why does anyone need to do such if they own a Dell laptop. My Nephew has a Dell laptop which he got from a previous owner but now when doing a fresh clean installment of windows the Microsoft account from the previous owner shows up when doing the set up, how does one remove this account? BTW This forum site isn't working all that good either... this is the third time trying to edit the post, which seem not to work

It is not a "Dell thing". Windows 10 and 11 activations are tied to a Microsoft account -- until the later versions, it was optional for Windows 10, but it's mandatory for Windows 11. Once Windows is activated, it's tied to the Microsoft account to which it is initially activated until the owner logs in and removes the activation. Once that's done, the new owner can use their own Microsoft account to activate the software.
If you cannot or will not contact the person who initially activated Windows, you can purchase a new license for Windows and activate it yourself.

@ejn63 All I'm trying to do is a clean installment of windows which I was able to perform but doing the set up process it showing the previous owner Microsoft account under the login to Microsoft set up, why? My HP laptop doesn't do this or does my Sony, why is such with Dell and I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with Windows 11 latest version even knowing now one needs to use Microsoft account for set up. Also I find this Dell forum site very disturbing allowing a user only so many posts

Anything old enough to be called Sony wouldn't have shipped with (or run) Windows 11 -- Sony exited selling laptops ten years ago. Who knows with the HP, but it's probably not been activated with a Microsoft account.
Any Windows 10 or 11 that's been activated with a Microsoft account will be tied to the original user who registered the system. All you need to do is have that person remove the system from their MS account and your reinstall will be done, and you can then activate it with your Microsoft account.

First of all one can bypass the microsoft account altogether click the Shift & F10 keys for command prompt enter the following oobe\bypassnro follow by a reboot and do the command prompt again but this time enter ipconfig \release and if this doesn't work when doing the set up instead of using personal use for computer use the work/school but there more details afterwards if one wants to know how.... Back to the post. What I don't get is when performing a clean installment of windows from a usb drive ( boot off ) and I don't mean using Dell assistance but a actual Microsoft Windows 11 copy when doing the set up it doesn't ask for the license keys, how is one able to use a different license if they can't get by the Microsoft previous owner account login set up part. It should at least at the beginning of the set up ask for a license key and it shouldn't matter if the laptop has been activated already it still should ask for a license key copy, no? <Violations as defined by Dell removed. Read the Forum Code of Conduct. DELL-Admin> is this Dell. Sorry, you have exceeded the number of allowed messages. Please try again after some time. Where are we in kindergarten DELL? Just WOW. Oh Yeah, what am I to do with my Vaio SX14 13th Gen model?

A Vaio SX14 has nothing to do with Sony or with a Dell XPS. It's relatively clear what you're trying to do here, but not why you're ignoring the obvious. Simply have the previous owner deactivate the system, and you can be on your way with a clean install.
Microsoft's servers recognize a unique identifier from the system and auto-activate it. If you don't want that, remove the existing product key and enter a new one. Problem solved.

I was trying to figure out whether this was a Dell thing or not and now I know it isn't... Its a Firmware a company had put on their laptops, they're a few options available to perform. Thanks for the help... Though this forum site is really bad... Sorry, you have exceeded the number of allowed messages. Please try again after some time.... Totally bad DELL

In order to do a clean install you have to delete all partitions down to just the C drive. Did I say all partitions? Yes I did. You may have one small partition that you cannot delete though but that should not have a previous owner's name in there.. Delete all that you can and that is a CLEAN install otherwise someone else's name will show up.
