Very Disappointed in my XPS 15 9530 laptop
XPS 15 9530
I have had a previous DELL laptop that I have upgraded that I only paid a little over $100.00 for several years ago. It still works as I have kept it updated. I also had purchased an XPS tower prior to that that I absolutely loved. I work as an IT professional and without a doubt have worked with multiple computer brands and it seemed DELL always came out on top. A year ago I purchased my XPS thinking I am getting a high quality product, even though expensive I felt I would be satisfied with my purchase however I am VERY disappointed. I have tried to report the problem prior to my warranty expiring but could never complete the process because of my very busy lifestyle and now the problems are seemingly worse. Several times under warranty the laptop got so hot on my leg that it made my skin sweat and I've had periodically to clean the bottom of the laptop. It has never left a permanent mark but it has gotten very hot. It has shown me the code of a M1004. Also when charging I have to practically hold the charging cord in in order to keep the laptop from simultaneously stop charging. The screen seems to flicker on occassion and have no idea what could potentially cause this.
I'm really at a loss because I spent my hard earned money on something that is I believe unreliable.

Run the diagnostics on the system to see what it shows. Post back here with the results.
To receive assistance from Dell chat support, they need to verify the warranty status and ownership. Then you must troubleshoot with them. Click the "Get Help Now" icon on the right to start a live chat session. If already out of warranty, click here for the Dell out of warranty offering.

You need at least a replacement system board at this point -- when you start seeing that error, there's damage to the board from all that overheating.

So not only is this laptop plugged in - but doesn't seem to recognize the charging cord provided by Dell when the laptop was purchased. On top of that the laptop indicated it needed a BIOS upgrade. Went to do the BIOS upgrade and it failed. NICE GREAT - the hits keep coming.
