TPM 2.0

Dell G7 17 7790

Dell G7 17 7790

I have bought 3 laptops for me and my son i the last 5 years and the oldest on on 23/12/2019 and I am out of support on it!

The model is the Dell G7 17 7790 Intel coffee lake i7-9750h/RTX 2070 max q and TPM is not present am not sure but it might have had bitlocker on it at some point I can't remember whether I disabled it but to have bitlocker you need TPM 2?

I've done a BIOS update to latest 24/08/24 and tried to download the latest Dell TPM firmware and it's not compatible with my laptop Dell's site is saying.

I thought Dell had TPM on their laptops from 2015 so I don't understand it, any ideas please?

The system has a CPU that supports Intel PTT (a TPM workalike that is built into the CPU).  It won't have a separate TPM 2.0 chip.

Your CPU does support Intel PTT, so as long as the PTT setting is enabled in Setup, you should be set.
