The Keyboard Randomly Stops Working on Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 (9315) Tablet

For a long time now, my keyboard randomly stops working. The mousepad still works, so there seems to be a connection to the tablet screen. Sometimes if I disconnect the screen and reconnect, the keyboard will start working again. Sometimes I have to reboot and it will start working. Sometimes it's because it's sitting in my lap and maybe tilted a bit too far back and it doesn't like the angle so it stops working. And then other times, nothing I do can get the keyboard to work so I just have to use in touch screen tablet mode for a while until it randomly works again on another day.

Any advice, troubleshooting steps, explanations?
