SOD and restarts after Windows 11 24H2 Update while idle on Dell XPS 15 9570
XPS 15 9570
eventvwr shows:
29.12.2024 20:00:01
The computer restarted after a fatal error.
The error code was: 0x0000007e (0xffffffffc0000005, 0xfffff80765e63a8d, 0xfffff18361166f78, 0xfffff18361166760).
A full dump was saved to: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\122924-17156-01.dmp. Report ID: 40d5f111-4053-4f4f-940b-9a720c8c1023.
The evaluation (by MS) of the minidumpfile says that the Realtek USB audio driver (version: 6.3.9600.2330) is causing the BSOD!
Therefore, a new version is needed here.
The manufacturer's website Realtek shows a newer USB Audio Driver 6.3.9600.2347 for Windows 11, but is this new Driver approved for
Dell XPS 15 9570?
Contacted Dell - People on Chat let me know the Realtek USB audio Driver isn't certified.
..told him that a new Driver needs approval and attached on the download side vy Dell.
Furthermore, got info that:
Only drivers on our website are legitimate and they are released according to the system compatibility
Now I'm no smarter than before.
