Screen turning off too soon
XPS 13 7390
Hi.
Every time I leave my laptop working, (updating, recording something, downloading etc) The screen reverts to the lock screen image after a few minutes, requiring my pin to open. During this time the process has stopped, restarting when I sign in.
I have checked the various timeout settings and they're all set to 'Never'. I have reset them to default, restarted the laptop, and reset them to 'Never' again. No change.
I've checked the screensaver, which I never use, and it's set to 'None'. I enabled a screensaver and set the timer to an hour. No difference so I turned it off again.
I checked for a proximity sensor but this xps13 7390 does not seem to have one.
I finally factory reset the flipping thing.....AND...it's still the same.
I want to be able to leave it running doing some job with the screen live until I turn it off.
Any suggestions, please.
Ps. Words of one syllable please. I am Very Old.

I see this on XPS 15 9750 suggesting it is a windows issue and I have not be able to figure out how to add more than 60 seconds before the lock screen enables

@HedgeFundManager
Thanks for your reply. It seems odd to me that more people don't seem to be worried about this, and in it's turn don't seek a solution.
I'll get on to Microsoft and see if anyone there has an idea.
Meanwhile, I hope for a fix here!!!

I have found the dynamic lock to be problematic myself

We've encountered an issue on multiple Dell Latitude 5420 laptops where the screen turns off unexpectedly and very quickly, even during active use. After troubleshooting standard power settings, we've identified a potential cause: the Proximity Sensor or Presence Detection feature within Dell Optimizer.
If you are experiencing this problem, please try the following:
On the affected systems, disabling the proximity sensor resolved the issue of the screen turning off prematurely. It appears that in some cases, the sensor might be too sensitive or malfunctioning.

I agree that some Dell logic needs some work on it
