S2722DC - Which Dell laptops take advantage of USB-C charging?
Hi all, newbie here. I like the fact that the S2722DC monitor can charge a laptop. Can someone please tell me which Dell (or other) laptop(s) are compatible with this monitor that support the charging capability? From what I’ve been reading, the laptop needs to have a USB-C port that supports “power delivery,” versus a standard USB-C port. Ideally, I would like to spend less than $1k on the laptop. Also, one more dumb question: Does the laptop need to be 2K (versus 1080p) in order to support this? Thank you!

Most new systems except for workstations and gaming systems will support USB-C/Thunderbolt charging.
Workstation and gaming systems generally ship with AC adapters 180W or larger and in the case of Precision, Alienware and some G-series Inspirons (and whatever the new model names are) will not charge over USB-C.
For any specific older model, your best bet is to look at the product specifications for the system. Some systems even with USB-C will not charge over USB (including many budget models -- Inspiron 3000, Vostro 3000 etc.).
Some systems ship with or without USB-C and may have different limitations depending on the original equipment. In many cases, those systems come with additional hardware (discrete video, higher resolution or refresh screens) along with the higher level of standard specification.
