Problems booting up/stuck on Dell Logo
My computer (XPS 15) is stuck at the Dell Logo when booting. I tried pressing F12 repeatedly but nothing happened. Someone suggested it might be an issue with the BIOS. Can someone help identify/fix this issue? Thanks!

First, our users will need to know which specific XPS 15 model. If you do not know, enter the private Service Tag HERE to see the model and warranty status.

Second, plug the AC power adapter into the Laptop. Disconnect all added peripheral devices from the Laptop and retest.

This is a Dell XPS 15 9520. I do not have any added peripheral devices and the computer is plugged in.

Unplug the system and remove the base cover. Disconnect the battery from the mainboard and hold the power button for 30 sec.
Remove and reinstall the memory module(s) and the SSD. Reassemble and see if it will then boot.

@ejn63 thanks, seems complicated, what do you think the issue is that I have with my computer? Are these steps easy to do?

Hopefully it's a corrupted EC chip firmware, which that procedure will reset. Try that first.
Service manual has the details on the hardware aspect.

Disconnecting the battery, memory and SSD did not work. However, I was able to start the BIOS refresh process by pressing F12, but then it got stuck again and I can't refresh with F12 or F2. I heard that downloading BIOS and then inserting a USB flash drive might work, or disconnecting the internal CMOS battery from the motherboard for a few minutes. Any other recommendations?

If you know the problem arose with a firmware flash that failed, perhaps. The chances are low otherwise - meaning the mainboard needs to be replaced.
