Power Issue XPS15 9500
My battery failed on my XPS15 and I got it replaced.
It worked fine for a while.
Now when I turn on the laptop the battery isn't charging.
If I power down and hold for 30 seconds (wait for it to completely shutdown) and I remove the power cable and power up and put back in the power cable it charges the battery again.
In checks the battery is listed as being good.
Any idea whats going on or what I should be doing with the laptop.
I can get the laptop to work but its very frustrating.
I updated the BIOS but it didn't make a difference.
Seems strange it both works and doesnt work properly.

If both of the battery and power adapter are known good working, the issue could be with motherboard.
Performing RTC reset to see if it may help https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000125880/how-to-reset-real-time-clock-rtc-to-recover-your-dell-portable-system

Thanks for the reply. Hopefully its not the motherboard. I'll see if I can limp along with the 30 sec shutdown. An RTC reset seems a bit daunting. It's very odd the way it happens. It's often after sleep mode it won't charge. If I completely shutdown it mainly starts up charging (but not always).
