NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Not Detected by BIOS or Windows 10
Hello Dell Community,
I am writing to seek assistance with a persistent issue regarding my laptop's dedicated GPU. I have a Dell XPS 15 7590.
I have physically inspected the motherboard and confirmed the presence of the N18P-G0-MP-A1 chipset along with its four VRAM modules.
However, neither the BIOS nor the Windows 10 operating system recognises or detects the presence of this GPU. It is not listed in the BIOS settings, nor does it appear in the Windows Device Manager under "Display adopters," even when I select "Show hidden devices." The NVIDIA driver installer also fails to proceed, giving a "no compatible hardware found" or "no GPU found" error message.
Here are the troubleshooting steps I have already taken:
Confirmed the physical presence of the NVIDIA chip on the motherboard.
Attempted a clean re-installation of the NVIDIA drivers.
Checked the BIOS settings for a "Discrete Graphics Controller" or similar option, but no such setting is visible.
Updated the laptop's BIOS to the latest version available on the Dell support website.
Updated the system's Chipset drivers from the Dell support website.
Despite these efforts, the GPU remains completely undetected by the system software. I would appreciate any guidance or assistance in resolving this issue.
Thank you for your time.

Reset the system - unplug, remove the base cover and disconnect the battery from the mainboard. Hold the power button for 30 sec. Reassemble and check the device manager -- there should be two entries under Display Adapters. If there are not, there are a couple of possibilities:
The GPU itself has failed (or it's not firmly soldered to the mainboard any longer due to aging), or
The GPU power rail (MOSFET, caps, etc.) has failed.
Either way, the mainboard will need to be replaced to solve the problem.
If the device manager does show two adapters, try uninstalling, rebooting and reinstalling the nVidia driver.
This is a software-controlled hybrid GPU setup so there won't be any firmware settings for the GPU.
