New XPS 13 9345: BIOS doesn't see bootable USB
I want to install Linux Mint 22 on my XPS 13 9345 (instead of Windows, which came pre-installed). I have made a bootable USB for Linux Mint 22, but I can't get it to appear in the BIOS list of bootable devices. I have tested the USB on other machines (including an older XPS 13 9380) and am able to boot from the drive on all other machines tested, so I don't think it's an issue with the USB drive.
I have the default settings in BIOS, which include enabling USB and Thunderbolt on boot.
What troubleshooting steps should I take?

It may not yet be possible -- see below.

I admit I'm a little out of my depth here, but it looks as though people have gotten a closely related Linux distro (Ubuntu) working on the XPS 13 9345 very recently: https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/ubuntu-24-10-concept-snapdragon-x-elite/48800
Certainly, having the laptop recognize a USB drive as a bootable medium is a necessary step to this working.

It is, and Ubuntu has one of the (if not the) largest user bases, so it's usually first to support new hardware. If you know it has worked, perhaps start with that distribution -- otherwise, check with the Mint community to see what the progress indicates about supporting the new SoC CPU platform.
