never ending boot cycle
XPS 15 9520
i changed the ssd drive in my dell 9520 xps, to a samsung 990 pro, created a flashdrive and proceeded to boot from the flashdrive
however the laptop goes into a perpetual loop, dell logo appears, then caps lock light goes off and screen goes blank, then caps lock light goes on and dell logo appears, this is never ending
If i hold down the power button the screen stays blank but as soon as i let it go it tries to boot again
I have tried all the normal stuff, such as f12, to enter bios, and disconnecting battery, holding down Shift + Esc, then plugging in power lead to force it to bios but nothing works
tried the old ssd back in.. no joy, nothing works, have i got a serious problem on my hands? I'm beginning to think so

What happens if you return the original SSD to the system?

With the AC power and main battery disconnected, hold the power button for 30 sec. Remove all drives from the system, and remove and reinstall the memory modules. Will the system then POST to a setup screen?

Go back to the original SSD and see if that helps

@HedgeFundManager
i have an update ,i left the laptop doing the boot loop and noticed that after about five minutes the charge light stayed on ,instead of off and on in sync with the continous looping
i then shut it down ,and turned it back on and it went to a recovery page where it wanted to connect to the internet ,which it did
it was downloading 10 files ,but when it got to the eighth one it said something like an error occured
so i shut it down and got it to boot to the usb flashdrive ,where it went through part of the windows install proceedure , however ,it said please select the driver you want to make your hardware discoverable ,so i browsed to the folder on the usb stick which contained the INTEL RST VMD CONTROLLER 467F ,after choosing that driver it then said an error has occurred ,
so it seems like three steps forward and two back atm 😒
