My Dell XPS 15 9500's screen will randomly flicker out under normal use.

I was on discord working on a project with friends, and had google chrome and a light electronic circuit designer program running as well. When I unplugged my laptop from my monitor the screen went crazy and the only way I see to resolve this is by turning the device off then on again. Does anyone know a fix to this?
