I bought a second hand laptop recently and the hard drive failed but now I need the windows licence and I can’t get it off the old hard drive can you help me please

The only Windows versions currently available are 10 and 11 -- see here:

Windows 11 will read the license from the machine and install accordingly

@Martin989 You didn't say what computer you have, but as others have said, recent computers save the license in UEFI/BIOS, so you won't need to find it from your old drive. If you have an old Win 7/8 computer, then you are likely out of luck.
