Manufacturing Mode activated and can't be disabled
Hi! I am the owner of a Dell XPS 15 9500, and my laptop recently booted into manufacturing mode with a lack of a service tag. Through looking online, I have learned that the solution should be pressing the F2 key during boot to enter the bios and enter the service tag on the bottom of my device. I am able to enter the BIOS fine and enter in my personal key. However, no matter how many times I enter it or what options I use to save this setting, the computer instantly "forgets" this service key and the laptop remains in manufacturing mode. A photo of what the laptop screen looks like when it boots in this mode is attached below.
I have tried reinstalling old versions of the BIOS as well as windows (both 10 and 11) several times, but the issue continues to persist. Through searching the forums, I know many others have suffered from a similar problem but have failed to find a solution.

@boma23
For your information and that of others, I solved this problem myself.
Step 1: Check and install the latest BIOS on this link.
Step 2: Restart your computer, and you'll find the "Manufacturing Mode activated" is still there, and you can press "Alt+F" to enter a new page.
Step 3: On the new page, there is a message" WARNING: the service tag has not been programmed. ......" then you should click "BIOS-Setup" to into a new page again.
Step 4: Input your "Service Tag" (your service tag is on the back of the computer "ST") and "apply change", finally Exit.
Step 5: Restart your computer, THE PROBLEM WILL BE SOLVED.
One more thing, I won't purchase Dell and Microsoft again.

I am experiencing the exact same issue with my XPS 15 9500, currently running the latest BIOS version 1.31.0.The problem appears to stem from the Service Tag, which first disappeared without any action on my part and now refuses to be registered through the BIOS menu, despite 11 attempts in manufacturer mode.
Could you please confirm if a corrective update will be deployed soon? It is pretty annoying that a $2700 device is running with the fan at full blast and consistently booting into error mode.

XPS15 7590.,Exactly the same problem, only the warranty has expired and these glitches have started, the tag disappears, the fan turns on at full power and I can't exit production mode. Who can help? Thank you.

@VitaliyPro Hi, did this issue begin after a recent BIOS update?

I have the same issue. It just started out of the blue, still running BIOS version 1.20.0, on December 24th. I hoped the latest firmware would fix it and installed 1.34.1, but that made it even worse. Now I often can't boot at all. Sometimes the device is stuck at the boot logo, sometimes the logo doesn't come up and just the keyboard is lit. Sometimes, it seems to stay in these states indefinitely and sometimes if powers off after a while. The only way to get it too boot (only in manufacturing mode though) is by briefly disconnecting the battery. After a couple of retries I got it to boot.
This feels like planned planned obsolescence. There don't seem to be any hardware issues. Once the device boots up, it seems to run just fine (except for the noisy fans). Only when it reboots or resumes from deep sleep it often fails to do so. Also, it worked well before December 24th.
I'm going to try BIOS downgrade, but I have little hope. One thing is for sure, I won't purchase Dell again.
FTR, this is a Dell XPS 7390 2-in-1.

@DELL-Нат М Hello, this problem has been around for a long time, about half a year, I don't remember exactly, maybe after updating the BIOS. But I updated the BIOS on December 24 and the problem was partially solved, but the problem with the tag still remains. (You need to enter the service tag). Thank you.

My laptop powers on, fans blasting, black screen. I can't flash the BIOS or boot anything.
Pressing the D key after connecting the power cable shows multiple colors on the screen, so it seems the screen works, but nothing else is printed on it when I plug the power normally.

@Zephyr Che I had a Latitude 3440 and this solution was the only solution I could solve. You're awesome!

@Zephyr Che Hi, the method you described for the XPS 15 9500 does not work!
I updated the BIOS to version 1.35.0,
but from the BIOS it does not update the Service Tag!! It doesn't save it...
The Service Tag is missing, it lets me type it, but it doesn't save it!!
