M.2 PCIE Gen Support

Does XPS 17 9710 Support M.2 PCIE Gen 4 or only it is PCIE Gen 3 Supported?!

I want to upgrade my M.2 and i don't know if my laptop supports PCIE Gen 4 or not

What part of both, do you not understand?

PCIe 4x4 is the current fastest one, and it's backward compatible with earlier versions.

You can use any NVMe M.2 2280 drive you wish.

I was asking if the motherboard itself supports M.2 PCIe Gen4 or if it only supports M.2 PCIe Gen3.

As If I upgraded to the m,2 PCIe Gen4 I will use the speed of the Gen4 or it will only work with the speed of the Gen3, that's what I meant in order not to pay extra money without benefit.

The Dell XPS 17 9710 supports both the Gen3 X4 and Gen4 X4

I want to know which Gen my laptop supports!
