Lid switch doesn´t work. The laptop turns on by itself with the lid open.
XPS 15 9520
Since a few days my XPS 15 I have experienced the next issue. I turn off Windows 11 and with the lid still open the laptop turn on by itself after 30 seconds. The same with Linux. It only do this when the power unit are not connected. With the power unit connected I can turn off the laptop well, but if disconnect the power It turn on again after 30 seconds.
After prove a lot of thinks It stops doing this when I disable in the BIOS the option of automatic turn on when open the lid. However I see that when I close the lid with the laptop started the screen shut dow. This makes me thing that the sensor is not broken. I think it could be a bug in the firmware. Have anyone experienced something similar?

I also am having this issue on my XPS 15 9530. The only way I could get the computer to stay off/asleep was disabling the "power on when lid opens" option in the BIOS. But now I cannot get it to go to sleep when the lid closes since it's stuck open apparently. Does anyone know where this sensor is located on these models (2023)?

I have two different options in my BIOS on XPS 15 9520. One to disable the sensor completely and another to disable the power on when lid opens. I have disabled only the second one and I can continue using the lid to suspend. This is the reason why I think it couldn`t be a hardware issue.
