Laptop battery not charging, BIOS says AC adapter not installed and charger works properly at other computers
I have this laptop for less than a month, and have charged it twice or 3 times, during this period and out of a blue it no longer recognizes the AC adapter and doesn’t charge anymore. I went to the BIOS, like the support video says and it says” AC adapter NOT installed”. And I've tested the charger in another Dell computer, and it worked pretty well.
The worst part is that I have the basic support and can only talk to Dell Support only on Monday, and I have a dissertation to delivery until Sunday night. Any sollution?

This issue won't prevent the system from running on AC power, so it should not be a work-stopper.
Chances are either the DC jack is damaged, or the mainboard is -- either way a hardware repair is needed, so you'll need to call Dell to arrange that. Meanwhile, plug the sysetm in during use.

@ejn63 I have the same problem but with a Latitude. The adapter does not power the MB, nor does it charge the battery. So in a few hours, the computer is useless.
