Issue with Dell XPS 15 9570 (Screen not turning on)

XPS 15 9570

XPS 15 9570

Hello everyone,

I have bought my laptop around 4 years ago. Just around 3 weeks ago, I experienced a major issue.

  • The issue did not happen prior to this.
  • Laptop randomly dies (even if fully charged)
    • It turns on, but the screen does not
  • Charging light (one at the bottom), flashes 1 white, followed by 2 amber
    • This apparently indicates there's a CPU failure. However, that is not the case
  • To fix this (3 weeks ago), I have:
    • Removed the bottom case (it immediately turns on but later turns off)
    • I removed both RAM sticks and blew Air into them
    • The laptop did not have any problem until after 3 weeks (now)
  • This is no longer working
    • It works when I remove the case. However, dies after

What could be the issue here, and the possible solution? Did anyone else experience this, it's very frustrating when a laptop has this problem without any reason after only a couple of years.

Thank you in advance!

A possible battery failure.  Test with battery removed and replacing if confirmed.

@Chino de Oro

I am assuming you mean, unplugged battery. I will try and have a look. Thank you for your response!

That beep code suggests a motherboard issue possibly the GPU

@Chino de Oro

I did remove the battery. Unfortunately, the issue is still ongoing even without it.

@HedgeFundManager

Is there a way for me to verify this? According to Dells support website the colour coding suggest CPU failure.
