Is hibernate safe in a bag for short periods?

I have read the FAQ on modern standby. I have an XPS 16. My understanding is that the laptop does not consume power in hibernate mode with no peripherals connected and should be safe for transport in a bag for a few hours. Am I missing something? Thanks?

It's a bad idea -- it isn't unheard of that a system in sleep mode might turn on -- and overheat.  Shut it down before transporting it.

@ejn63 I agree. Sleep has always been dangerous and modern sleep wakes up every time the wind blows. My question is about hibernate. Unlike sleep, hibernate writes the the system state to the hard drive and powers down the system. I have used hibernate since it first appeared and I have never had a computer spontaneously wake from hibernate. I assume that hibernate on my XPS 16 works the same as it always has. My question is, is that true?
