install of bios 1.32 hagns for over an hour and does not complete
XPS 17 9710
Dell command / update presents bios 1.32 for my Dell XPS 17 9710.
Tried twice to install without success.
What do I have to do to install bios 1.32?
Or should I not try to do that and wait for a better installable bios?

You can put the BIOS firmware on a non-bootable FAT32 formatted USB and update via the boot menu.
Go here to the BIOS firmware page https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=ckm1f&oscode=wt64a&productcode=xps-17-9710-laptop, scroll down and click to expand installation instructions. Review the section of updating the BIOS from BIOS Boot Menu (independent of operating system).

@Chino de Oro Thank you for your reply.
Did this scenario.
The bios update started (at least it said so)
Percentage started at 0% and an hour and a half later nothing had changed.
Have set bios back to the latest know good settings and can use the pc again.
But still at bios 1.31.
I think I'll fotget about 1.32 and wait for 1.33?
Thanks for your help,
Rewgards,
Bert
