Horrible sound and audio jack not working

The sound on the XPS is teriible, ive had the speakers replaced twice, and the main board replaced but still the same, Dell are replacing the laptop but it has to be a software issue so the chances are the replacement will have the same problem, does anyone know how to fix it?
