Failed BIOS update results in Bitlocker Recovery Key prompt

XPS 13 9310

XPS 13 9310

A Dell Support Assist scan of my system said that a BIOS update was available and I chose to update my system.  I was prompted to click to restart my system, which I did. However, after the restart no BIOS update install occurred.  Instead, a Windows prompt appears asking me to enter my Bitlocker Recovery Key.  I did this, but Windows does not start normally after this, instead I get all of the Windows system repair options.  How can I get my system back to starting Windows normally on startup?

+1 - kind of.

For since forever, doing BIOS updates via Dell Command Update has resulted in Bitlocker failing to re-enable after the reboot. My IT department has always had to intervene to get it back working.

But the latest update is even failing to install now. But it still forced an update and in turn reboot, and Bitlocker was once again left disabled.
