DELL XPS M170 Screen Lights Up But No Dell Logo Boot Screen Image

If the system does show a good image after Windows loads, it means the system isn't correctly sensing the ID (EDID) of the screen -- in other words, no -- the panel is not compatible with the system.  It'll function fine other than that you won't be able to see the boot (firmware) screen.

It only shows good image on a external screen not the new oner I just bought the  SAMSUNG LTN170WP-L02  screen  

So basically only a backlight but no dell logo on the screen panel I just bought   but shows normal on a external monitor 

Verify compatibility with your seller.  What happened to the original screen?

It shows strange half screen worked other half was dark so only half the screen worked 

I looked on Parts People to to get my numbers that are compatible with mine as my was not listed anywhere so the seller told me it would work I put in a return request 

That opens the question:  did you replace the inverter with the screen?

This system use a CCFL backlight - if the original inverter is still in the system, it could well be the problem.

Will the inverter also cause the screen to go half dark and other part fine

If so I can buy one for it

The inverter was the last thing and i did not change that

Then is it if a inverter goes out it will cause a screen to go half dark and rest fine?   

and then after logo goes completely dark

OK now this is the story

I originally had this at first see below list from 1-4 screen on this was like 1 front original 2 back of original screen  I was told it can be replaced with this screen (3) back of screen

I put in a new cable and inverter and now backlight goes on but no image is seen see below I am lost it will show image on external screen but not the new screen with the new inverter and cable  could the new screen be bad ?  I already got a refund from eBay on that screen
